The Orchards Shopping Centre Tin Shake!!
Saturday 17th December 2005
Well we donned our winter woollies, but it still wasn’t enough to
stop us from becoming frozen to the spot! I’m still not sure whether
it was the tins rattling or our teeth! But it was worth it to raise £256.10!
Many thanks to those who froze in the name of charity; Alan French, Julia
Mewes, Rob White, David Eggleston, Cathy Barnett and Nicky Burren. Also
a big thanks to all the shoppers who took pity on us in the cold, and
to the Orchards Centre Manager for allowing us to be there! Next BIG
shake, Christmas Eve, at Sainsburys, please come along and lend a hand,
it would be great to see you all!
South Road-Winter Wonderland!
Sunday 11th December, saw the MDR OB descend on South Road, to
provide the music and some entertainment, courtesy of Seb, our mascot!
We had a bit of a shake and raised another £33.

17th Dec, in The Orchards Shopping Centre!
Burgess Hill Raffle-Saturday 10th December
We raised another £300 (exactly) from
a raffle at The Triangle Leisure Centre in Burgess Hill. A concert was
also held on the night and the raffle tagged on to this, with kind permission
from Tim French and his production company. Many thanks to all of those
who bought tickets and commiserations (blimey, big word!) to those who
did not win the cuddly toy! Thanks also to David Eggleston and Cathy Barnett
for their hard work in organising!
MDR Mini Quiz – Part 2!!
Another successful Quiz was organised by Cathy Barnett, held on Wednesday
5th October and raised £159.00 towards
our new OB unit!! It was a good turn out, although lacking in MDR reps.
Another one is expected to be held early 2006, details as soon as we have
them.
South Road Tin Shake
Many thanks to everyone who contributed to our tin shake on Saturday 10th
September!! We pitched up with our Outside Broadcast Unit up by Iceland
and raised £212.80! Many thanks to all
the people who donated so generously and a big cheer for all the MDR crew
who turned up to lend a hand!
Orchards Tin Shake
Saturday 16th July 2005, saw members of MDR descend on the Orchards Shopping
Centre in Haywards Heath for our latest "tin shake"! It was
a great day and it's thought it was one of our most successful tin shakes
to date, raising £312.26! Many thanks
to all who donated and to the Centre Staff for allowing us to be there!
Next Orchards Tin Shake is scheduled for 17th December, (the Saturday
before Christmas Eve!)
Quiz Night
Wednesday 6th July, saw a Mini Quiz take place at St. Francis Social Club,
raising £136.00. Our Quiz Nights are proving
to be a huge success after the Mega Quiz in April which raised over £700,
which will go towards the cost of our new outside broadcast unit. Another
Mini Quiz in scheduled for Wednesday 5th October, for
more info about entering a team(s) contact Cathy Barnett.
