It was a hot and rather heady night with England through to the Football World Cup semis so what better time for a great evening of music at the St Francis Club. Dave (Doc) Hammond persuaded 3 local bands from Rokskool to perform for MDR
to raise much needed funds.
Linda and Mopsy were on a mission to sell as many raffle tickets as possible while Robbie and Roy covered the door and sold more raffle tickets. Gary and Graham set up the gear and the music kicked off with father and son Steve and Tommy Henshaw followed by the charismatic Massive Rug Sale. Young band Filthy Sound kept the pace going and then a terrific impromptu performance from Mike Oliver, Herry and Leon Kaye and Alvaro Hurtado set the scene for Dave’s band Crysis to lead us to a full on rock finale.
The evening raised over £230 and was greatly enjoyed by all. A big thank you to all the performers, to Dave for setting the gig up, to Vince for the posters,Linda, Mopsy Robbie and Roy, Gary as always for being amazing and especially to John, Mario, Della and the St Francis Club for hosting the event.
